Principal’s Message

Dear Parents, Guardians, Students and Staff,

It is our pleasure to welcome you to the Racette family.

Our school strives to bring out the best in every student, with achievement being at the core of this statement. We know that every student can learn and they will improve this year. Our standards are being raised from acceptable to excellent, effective to exemplary! To better prepare our students for final exams, all students will be writing midterm exams this year in the core subject areas.

Racette School will be continuing with a number of great programs already in existence at: Faith Education,  Accelerated Reader, Religious Celebrations, Moral Intelligence, and intramurals, to name a few.

To increase the achievement of every student, we have implemented an SST (Student Support Team) block every day before lunch.  This time will allow students to catch up on missing assignments, complete AR reading or to get extra assistance if required.

At the beginning of September, we are treated to a variety of WOW (Week of Welcome) activities. It was an excellent opportunity for students to make new acquaintances from grades 6 to 9. A special thanks to Mrs. Gerlinsky for organizing the events and to all fellow staff members for participating in this great activity.

Parent council meetings will be held on every 2nd Tuesday of the month beginning at 7 p.m. We warmly welcome all parent(s)/guardian(s) to our meetings.

Racette School hosts an annual “Meet the Teacher BBQ” which is held during the month of September . We look forward to meeting all of the parents and students who come out to get to know teachers and staff.

We anticipate a very successful year for each of our students as we continue working together to improve student achievement!

To everyone– Welcome, Bienvenue, Tawâw. Please know that our doors are always open.
